Hello everyone! Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!
I am a believer that artists should support other artists! ✨
Especially when they launch an amazing project and you have to tell everyone about it! 📣
I know my project was a success because of not only my fans coming together, but peers as well. So I want to share the love!
New Graphic Novel from Pegamoose Press, Orchard of the Tame!
Orchard of the Tame is an exciting debut graphic novel by Marlo Meekins and Nick Cross that introduces us to a fantastical world reminiscent of classic fairy tales, matching whimsical heroes against sinister villains. 🌈
This beautiful coming-of-age/dark fantasy is an absolute feast of imagination as we follow River Siren, a young mermaid navigating the beauty and horror of the world outside of her prison, on her journey towards self-actualization.🧜♀️
With help from her newfound friends, she must overcome her fears and confront the monster who kept her caged. 🌟
Inspired by comics and animation such as Jeff Smith's Bone, Nick Cross's characters exude life and emotion as their world and environments draw you in with their richness and beauty.🎭
Fans of Cartoon Network's Over the Garden Wall will feel instantly drawn to the art as Nick Cross was the art director for the series and won two Emmy awards for his work on the show. 🏆💫
"Eye opening, frightful and full of life, Orchard of the Tame by Meekins & Cross is teeming with the DNA of fairy tales and thousands of cartoons, and yet it feels elementary and new. Not only that, but the drawings of trees alone is worth the price of admission. We love blue!"
~ Jeff Smith, Creator of BONE, RASL, TUKI and THORN
"Orchard of the Tame is a wonderfully strange, personal, funny, dark, moving fairytale created by two of my favorite people in the world, brilliantly realized in gorgeous black & white. Ainsprid is one of the weirdest, creepiest villains ever.”
~Patrick McHale, Over the Garden Wall
Thank you so much! I hope you enjoy this project as much as I do!
